MARTY BELL
While
many know Marty Bell, the artist of beautiful flowers and romantic countryside scenes, few
know of her other talents. An accomplished pianist, she often takes a break from painting
by playing her favourite melodies. Not only does she play extremely well, she has a lovely
singing voice.
Even more remarkable is Marty’s gift with words. Much of her poetry has been written
to accompany a particular painting, giving voice to the inspiration of the painting
itself.
“The first time Jim and I had the privilege of visiting Marty in her home, we followed her husband, Steve, into the house. We could hear what we thought was a compact disc playing in the background. The piano solo was so clear and so beautiful, it sounded as if it were being played right there in their home. It was. We quickly found out that it was Marty playing the piano, not recorded music!”
