High
quality plastic moulds are available in two weights - light weight for chocolate
and plaster as well as heavy
duty for craft use.
Please wash all moulds
carefully NEVER in very hot or boiling water
as this may distort the moulds and make it impossible to unmould future models.
USES & HINTS FOR FLAT SHEET
PLASTIC MOULDS
PLASTER OF PARIS
A Release agent is required.
Vaseline
melted and brushed with a small paint brush into mould cavity.
Undiluted
dishwashing detergent.
Glad
Wrap may be placed into mould cavity with paint brush.
Cooking
spray (light spray only).
Additives can be added to plaster.
PVA
glue can be mixed with plaster to remove some of the brittleness.
Fine
shredded paper or similar material.
A nail or piece of wire can be added to the plaster at
the weakest point to stop breakages (e.g. legs or arms). Make sure the plaster
is completely dry before turning out model, best left for 24 hours.
Casting
temperature should be 70 degrees celsius, hotter temperatures will distort moulds.
Release
agent is not required but mould should be cleaned between casting.
PAPER MACHE
Release Agents.
Vaseline
melted and brushed into mould cavity.
Cooking
spray (light spray only).
Car
or floor polish with silicon may also be used.
FOOD
Chocolate,
Icing, Jelly, any food that doesnt exceed 70 degrees Celsius can be used (NOT
TOFFEE).
Mould
should be washed with warm water and dried before use. A light food spray may be used but
should be used very lightly so only the finest film remains.
SOAP
Release
agent is not usually required but a food spray may be used if required with only
a light covering.
